In 1991, Ismael Mora, with his wife Nancy Veliz, started a modest workshop in the backyard of their home, this small business would come to be known as “Centro Del Arte”, with hard work it became one of the top silversmith companies in the country. The company had a rough start, there were few tools and only a couple workers to emboss the silver. Even so, the crafts had an outstanding finish thanks to the care and attention to detail that Mr. Ismael had.
As time passed the silver products came to be well known and respected due to their quality, this brought more customers and with them came more revenue, which was used to buy more equipment and hire more personnel, always having the quality of the products as the highest priority.
“We can obtain a wide variety of shapes and sizes, we have a unique style with a fine texture, we always strive to be creative, which allows us to adapt to every customers need”.
The company focused on the local market at the start but soon Ismael would start looking for customers outside Bolivia, he found a potential in the Mexican and North American market. Sales increased with these new customers and soon the company exclusively on exporting.
Sadly, Ismael’s wife, Nancy, passed away in 2012, leaving the company without a key member. Production slowed and things look rough for a time, though eventually the problems were overcome. The company’s situation slowly improved over the next couple years. However, as things improved, Ismael’s health slowly declined over the years until he sadly passed away in 2018.
Now his son, Israel, is in charge of the company and is looking to give it a more modern look with new ideas and designs. The work continues with the same quality it has always had.
Under the new administration, the company was renamed as “Arte Prata” and is currently working with the same dedication and effort with a more modern touch, always aiming to please its customers, whether it is with the colonial style designs the company is known for or with modern ones.
